Recently store owner Lisa Beggs and store manager Cathy Sweeney made a quick trip to San Diego for the Uniform Retailer’s Association conference. Well… quick might not be the best way to describe it! To get there they made stops in Chicago and Las Vegas so the journey was long, the time there was short but it was oh so much fun! There was no lost luggage, thank goodness, but there was an airplane seat mate who refused to turn off his computer, which was quickly tempered by the flight attendants who were hilarious during the safety briefing. Go Southwest!
Luckily Lisa and Cathy were enjoying gorgeous weather while everyone here was getting rained on day after day. They got to make a quick run to an amazing mall that was close to the hotel, and let’s just say the stores were pretty upscale with lots of merchandise behind glass with locks! Oh and let’s not forget the amazing food at the vendor reception. But don’t be too jealous… they were working really hard meeting new vendors, reviewing new products, and attending retail seminars that covered all aspects of the retail market. They even got to meet with a scrub designer from Peaches which was totally cool! So while it was fun, they had an exhausting three days!
As a result of the conference we are excited to say we are now working with a vendor they met, BANDED, who is doing some amazing charitable work while providing a great product at the same time. The Uniform Store is now carrying their “no slip, no pain, no kidding” Banded headbands. But what is most thrilling about the new relationship is that with just one shipment of headbands the store has provided 144 meals to children in Uganda through Amazima. This is what we were talking about in the last blog post… making a difference beyond our community! So keep an eye out at the store for their products and join us in the fight against hunger!
The staff held down the fort while Lisa and Cathy were away and they did a great job! They are looking forward to the 2014 conference in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina!
