Every great story has a beginning doesn’t it? In the spring of 2009 Kentucky native Lisa Beggs, a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and all around amazingly imaginative woman, was ready for a new challenge. Lisa was looking for a creative outlet where she could meet people and make a difference in her community. Lisa found The Uniform Store and shortly thereafter became a small business owner!
The original store was 900 square feet and bulging at the seams when in 2010 there was an opportunity to move down a couple doors and double the store space to 1,800 square feet. Slowly over the next couple of years the store was building a great client base, expanding its presence on the internet with a store website, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and offering a wider variety of garments, accessories, and shoes. In the fall of 2012, with a little bit of nail biting and a lot of prayer, Lisa expanded the store by knocking out the wall to expose the empty space next door, bringing the store to its current size of 2,700 square feet. This new space was immediately filled with the expanding chef and hospitality wear offering, as well as more shoes. Hello… SHOES!! Doesn’t everyone need more room for shoes?? If you want to see Lisa’s creative talent put to work check out this cool industrial rack she bought specifically for shoes.
Lisa has surrounded herself with a wonderful staff of women and friends, all working together to give you a unique experience and unexpected service. These ladies have shared a lot together: meals, shopping, painting, biking, walking for charity, trade shows, exercise classes, life, sickness, death, a few tears… and lots of laughter!
Now you know our history, so what’s next? Besides offering the high quality uniforms, shoes, supplies and accessories to individuals who work in the health, food and casual office environments, we want to reach out beyond the immediate Winchester area. Thank you for your support as we look for ways to impact our community and the world!
